My Birth Card Says I Should Be Successful, How Come I’m Not?

Many Birth cards (and their life path) are deemed as very successful, very powerful, can achieve anything…

Yet, I’ve witnessed it over and over while doing readings. The person sitting across from me is one of those cards and when I tell them how fortunate their birth card is, they look at me with disdain. But, I’m NOT successful!

I experienced the same thing being a six of clubs. When I first read about my card and how successful it can be, I thought, what?!?! My life has been nothing but heartache and poverty!!

As I studied my Life Path cards, I began to see where and why I was not succeeding and what was getting in my way – then I worked at changing those issues!

There are many factors that create the life we are experiencing. We can be a Leo and hate being in the spotlight or be a Pisces and not like being near water even though those might be known as typical for those two signs.

As with Astrology and Numerology, there are two sides to every card – a low side and a high side.

We can be living the low side and missing out on all the positive gifts that card (and it’s path) has for us.

Here are 3 reasons why you might have a positive birth card, but are not yet experiencing that success!

  1. When you first learn that you have a birth card, you only know about that one card.  That card might be a powerful card  (such as an 8, 10 or Court card), but the cards of the Life path (the 12 cards that are to the left of your birth card) tell the whole story. As I shared in my post about the 10 of diamonds (known as the Most Blessed card), the cards of the 10 of diamonds Life Path aren’t all easy cards. One has to utilize and work through the issues of those cards in it’s Life Path that aren’t easy in order to experience the success or power of that birth card.

2. Your Life Path might have a difficult number of years, then finish with the more successful, powerful cards.  Each card in your path represents a time frame- a number of years- and speaks to the energy of those years. One might have a difficult childhood, then enter years of ease and success. For many, those years of hardship set up the rest of their  lives because they never move past the pain, failures or hardships and believe that is all their life will be.

I’m reminded of the celebrity Bobby Bones. He is a 6 of spades/ 8 of diamonds. He had a very rough childhood of poverty, but never stopped dreaming of being a radio host and using that to escape the extreme poverty. The 6 of spades path has a Queen of hearts as their Mercury card that speaks to their early childhood of a heavy influence from a female (he was raised by his mom and grandmother) with possible addiction issues (his mom was an addict).

It can be a childhood of extreme addiction, fears/phobias and/or constant escapism into a fantasy world that one really never comes out of (on the low side). Bobby did escape, but many 6 of spades let those early issues rule their entire lives, even though the 6 of spades has a very successful life path as their middle years are spent with the cards of the Crown line!

3. Where does your birth card sit in the Solar Spread?  You might have a powerful/successful birth card, but the combined energies of where it sits in the Solar spread speaks to how that card can be powerful OR get stuck.  As with the 10 of diamonds, which sits at Jupiter and Jupiter (Jupiter is the most benevolent planet and is why it is called the Most Blessed card), an abundance of Jupiter can lead to gluttony, over extension, ignoring negative realities, pretense and being pompous.

The King of Spades – the most successful card in the deck – sits at Saturn and the Sun (or Crown line).  Those planets have a combination of restrictions/responsibility (Saturn) and Identity/ego (Sun). It is either an energy of hard-working, responsible, disciplined with a strong sense of purpose OR an exaggerated feeling of failure, having to be responsible for everyone 24/7 and that life is nothing BUT hard work, struggles and barriers.

Each of us (and each card) has a duality – that low side we can be, or the high side we can be. We can discover where our strengths are and tap into that. We can see where our weaknesses can be so we can see if that is why we feel stuck or as if we aren’t the powerful, successful person we want to be.

In the same sense that a person born into wealth doesn’t guarantee happiness or success, a successful/powerful card isn’t a guarantee of an easy-peasy, powerful, abundant life. Each card has its gifts, potentials, and difficulties to overcome, but in the overcoming of those difficulties, a more powerful, stronger and expanded Self is created.

To me, that is empowerment.

To take what you are given and choose to not play the victim. Instead, grow, overcome and be victorious as the Divine being that you are!

Spiritual Warrior Thinks: What Is Money?

Spiritual Warrior Thinks: What is Money?

I am life
jungle
rebirth
the thing after nothing.

I say my poetry
mantra mumbling on lips
collecting miles under bare feet
climbing mountains
on bare belly,
she grumbles hunger.
The other side,
setting fire
surviving.

Licking dew from leaves
in the fringe forest,
in the center
all is laid bare.
A rug of ashes.

And then a seed tousles
bursting her way
towards the sun.
I burst my way
towards the sun!
Seed, bloom,
stem, leaves, fruit!
A creature of ripening red
passionfruit
seeds on fire.
Bare teeth, bite,
I fill my middle
full
satiated
living under tree of abundance
dripping sustenance.

I am life
jungle
rebirth
the thing after nothing.

Acknowledge Where You Are Now As OK

ackowledgewhereyouare

I will admit…I’m feeling like I’ve hit rock bottom. Things have not been this scary for me in many years.

So much is going on in the world and the astrological events have us feeling unstable, unsure and disappointed.

Fortunately, Saturn turned direct after its four months in retrograde. Literally, from the second day it went retrograde until yesterday, I have been in a state of questioning. What exactly IS my work? What kind of routine do I want? How do I do what I really want to do? I’m very unhappy with certain things in my life right now.

Saturn has been in my 6th house – the house of work, service and our routines.

I can look back now and see how it made me question everything, it made me weigh all I was doing and make some core decisions. It hasn’t been pleasant.

I over-reacted when things felt out of control and my ‘reality’ seemed unsure.

I know that focusing on my uncertainty and my current frustration isn’t going to get me where I want to be.

This has been a huge opportunity for me to really hone in on how we need to NOT focus on the stuff around us that feels and looks negative.

But, how do we do this?

After my housemate did a tarot reading for me, I calmed down. She assured me that underneath the surface, things were just fine. I think some wise advice for things right now are to take deliberate actions instead of reacting to how things seem to be.

I reached out for help by talking to a few friends.  It helped immensely. We all need that right now. Don’t forget to reach out if you need to. Allow yourself to receive care and support, and be open to unexpected GOOD. Things are better than they seem.  Even if it feels as if nothing is happening – guess what?  It is – even if we can’t see it right now.

The exercise below helped me a lot, so I wanted to pass it along to you.

Here are 3 powerful steps to help you clear any past (or current) gunk so you can move forward:

  1. Acknowledge where you are right now. Acknowledge it on an emotional level. The past doesn’t exist anymore. Who you were is no longer. But, as humans, we hold onto all that gunk and it clogs us up when we try to make any changes. Guess what? It’s all OK. Own it. Own any negative feelings you have right now about money issues, about how you feel about yourself, how you feel about how you make your living, how you feel about any failures, mistakes or confusion. You can’t get clear when the muck of any negative feeling is clogging you.

Do you feel stuck? Scared? Unsure? Powerless?

Write it all down. Create a poem about it. Dance it out. Slather paint on a board that represents it.

Make sure you address all negative emotions that you currently have about your life.

Then step back and say. “All of that is OK. But now I’m focusing on how I want it to be and I’m moving on. And you’re not moving on with me.”

You must release it to the point that it no longer has an emotional charge for you. Because what’s in front of you right now is perfect.

Yes, read that line again: Because what’s in front of you right now is perfect.

How can bad health, or no money, or the insanity of our country’s politics, or the economy be perfect as it is?

Narrow your focus down to just YOU. Where you are, what is going on, IS perfect, right now.

You do this in order to retrain how you think and focus. sunset_choosereality

Regardless of what is going on around you and what others are saying, feeling and thinking, you don’t have to buy into it and make it your vibration. You can choose NOT to focus in on it, always be talking about it, getting all riled up about it. You have a choice, which is what your innate power is – to choose your reality.

To move past what is not feeling good for you currently in your life is to become a vibrational match for what you DO WANT as often as you can.

What are the majority of your thoughts? THAT is what Source will match and bring to you.

The stuff that is upsetting you is upsetting you because that is what you are focusing on. Paying attention to it isn’t going to make it better.  Expecting things to be better, imagining how you want it to be and knowing things WILL improve WILL make it better.

Back to that where you are is perfect statement.

It is where you need to be in order to know exactly what you want.

That has been HUGE for me. Because of how things are for me right now, I have been getting REALLY clear on exactly what I want, where I want to be and what I want to do.

Once you acknowledge the gunk –

  1. You focus on all the positive things you have going on right now and have accomplished and are grateful for in your life.

Where have you succeeded? What do you do well? What in your life is working really well? What do you have that you love? What do you do that you love and are good at?

Don’t limit this list. Get into everything about you that is on track and awesome – even the little things!

  1. Go back to that first list and one by one, take responsibility for it. With each one, say, “Yes, this is how I feel about this. I created this. It happened. So what?”

Surrender to it. With no judgment.

So what if you’ve been stuck? So what if you’ve been scared and freaked out about money? So what if you’ve felt a lack of confidence in your abilities? So what if someone made a negative comment about something you did? So what if your parents think you are not as far in life as they think you should be?  So what if you failed at the last 3 attempts to start a business?

Why can you say “so what?” to all of it?

Because the ONLY thing it means is that you weren’t in alignment with what you wanted.

Period.

It has NOTHING to do with your ability, potential or possibilities. Zip. Nada.

Shit happens. Shit happens to all of us. We all go through negative times and feelings. We all get stuck, make mistakes and freak out.

But now….now you realize this and you can just let it all go and stand in a new space… a space of: “Now I know what I want and how to be in alignment with it so I can manifest it.”

You know how contrast can make a story, image or poem pop? Well, it makes life pop too. It makes us see and know what we don’t like or want, so we can focus on what we do want.

That is all.

Repeat after me. “That is all.”

Here is a little secret for you: If you let it go and truly release the emotional charge of it, then anyone who might’ve been part of making you feel bad about it, will also stop.

The world can be going “to hell” as we like to say, but things can be blissfully peachy for you – because that is what Source will deliver to you – as long as you take your focus OFF the “going to hell” stuff. 😉

Let’s retrain how we think, shall we?

How And Where Did Your Spiritual Leap Begin?

What was a major turning point in your life that assisted in your leap? What transpired that helped you on your spiritual journey?howwhere

I had the opportunity this past week to go back to a place where it all began for me. I want to share that story with you.

The thing that stood out for me in going back was how far I’ve come. It was like visiting the college you graduated from. You see your old professors and everything is going along as it was when you went there – but you are different. You took that experience and knowledge and you formed your life.

In my twenties, I made a choice to seek my spiritual path. Not the path I was raised on or expected to follow, but my own.

Then things began happening.

To keep this from being a novel, I’ll list the next few events:

  1. I began studying my dreams and went looking for any book I could on dream work. (I mainly studied Carl Jung at that point)
  2. At some point in the study of my dreams, I came across the magazine that the Association for Research and Enlightenment put out called Venture Inward. This is the Edgar Cayce Foundation in VA Beach, VA.  I had no idea who Edgar Cayce was, but the dream work from a spiritual perspective intrigued me.
  3. vi-magfan022016 One day when taking my kids to the Library in Albuquerque, I was slowly walking down the aisles as my kids were playing in the children’s area. At one point, a book literally fell off a shelf and landed at my feet. It was called There is a River – The Story of Edgar Cayce. I checked it out and read the entire book that night.
  4. That book was exactly what I needed to bridge that gap I felt between my traditional upbringing and the new more metaphysical things I was learning. I was so intrigued by his story and by what the A.R.E was doing and what Edgar Cayce taught from his readings, that I subscribed to Venture Inward.
  5. I discovered more and more through their magazine. I found an Edgar Cayce study group in Albuquerque and studied the readings. I knew that I wanted to learn more and be a teacher of metaphysics someday. (I had no idea I’d have a daughter who channeled!)
  6. I would spend each day daydreaming about living near the A.R.E and being able to study there. My new spiritual path was exciting and I was changing and growing, but I was trying to do it all alone and I was craving peers and teachers. I kept all of this to myself. I sure as heck couldn’t say to my hubby, “Let’s move to Virginia!”

The A.R.E in Virginia Beach, VA

( I had never been further east than Louisiana.)

One day hubby came home from work and announced that he had lost his job. We both did the  usual freak out thing…Albuquerque wasn’t exactly the best place to find a good job and we had three small children to take care of.

We did the usual hunt-for-work thing for a few months to no avail. Then one evening I got a phone call from a close friend who lived in Utah. She said her hubby was driving to VA and asked if he could spend the night with us?

I said of course he could!

He arrived and we picked his brain about why he was going to VA. He told us a new power plant had been built and he was going for a job interview there.

We asked how he knew about the job and he told us the name of the guy who told him about the job.

Well, the guy was my hubby’s long lost best friend! We had lost track of him and his wife over the years (this was pre-internet).

We called him up and after catching up asked about this power plant. He filled us in on the details of the small town and the power plant.

When they hung up, I said to my hubby – we are moving there in 2 weeks.

We owned a home, had no money to move on and there was absolutely NO guarantee that hubby could get a job at the plant. We had never been to VA, and we had no idea what it was like there!

But, we did it. We packed up and left in 2 weeks’ time – sight unseen, no home to move into and no money.

But it all worked out, every little step along the way.

AND – the town this plant was in? An hour inland from VA beach.20160726_150636

I immediately began going to the A.R.E and practically lived in their extensive Library. (The largest metaphysical library in the world!)20160726_151325

That continued my spiritual studies in such a rich and exciting way.

That was in 1991.

Alternative health, Astrology, Numerology and Divination were my primary topics, but I immersed myself in many and had years of being able to uplevel my life. I ended my clinical depression, got healthy and in shape and taught my kids to follow their bliss.

When I discovered what the playing cards were really all about, I knew that was the topic/tool I was meant to share and teach. All I had learned on my journey had prepared me for what I do now.

While we were at the A.R.E. this past week, we listened to a lecture on Reincarnation.

What stood out for me was how much the speaker talked about how we, as souls, come to Earth for the experiences and growth we get here.

The number “5” is the number of man, the number associated with earth. It represents the five senses. We come here to evolve and grow as souls. (Which allows Source to evolve as well!)

Someone in the audience asked why would we want to come here and live over and over when we could just be in the spirit realms?

It is because this is such an excellent school! I could go on and on about what the number 5 represents. Look at an apple, how many seeds does it have when you cut it in half? Five. Even the numerology of America is a “5” (7+4+1776 = 5)

The birthday of our Federal Government is also a “5” (3+4+1789= 5).

And Edgar Cayce was a 5 of Diamonds!

The Five is about change and requires action. Change has been a HUGE buzzword lately – for me personally and for society as we are moving though such an intense time in history. (more on that topic when I begin my posts about America’s forecast for this year via the cards).

But, I bring it up here because that was what stood out for me the most in going back to the A.R.E.

I had changed. I had grown. I had evolved.

The A.R.E. was my school and the tool that helped me change and build my foundation. I grew into learning from my omniscience and by using the tool that resonated with me the most (the cards).

My oldest daughter (Randi) was just in elementary school when we would go there is now channeling. My youngest daughter works with autistic kids – but in a way that sees them not as defective, but as special beings with a message for us, for they are here to live through a different lens.

My son has created a creative community in Santa Cruz and produces music with musicians who have a vital message to share regarding how we treat one another and how important our connection is to our planet.

We sat in the gardens there (it was the kids favorite place when they would go with me) and we did a channeled session. All three of us owe a lot to the A.R.E.20160726_164555

We can look back and see the incredible journey that led us to where we are now.

And best yet, we know that we still have a LOT more ahead on our journey!!

How Can The Seven of Spades Help Us Live Our Multidimensionality?

How can the 7♠ help us  live our multidimensionality?

This week’s card is the 7 of Spades. It is the card of Faith and Trust. It can mean that we might be going through some difficulties, stress or an inner struggle that helps us grow. Of course, stress and difficulties can result in an illness because our body holds what we’ve yet to process. Stress lowers our immune system and we catch colds, have allergy attacks or sometimes worse.

trust_7spades

Think about how your life is a particular way because of a belief you hold. Let’s use the example of believing in aging and that you start going downhill after age 30.

Due to that belief, you seem to have more aches and pains than others your age. You find gray hairs early. You get tired more often. You seem to no longer enjoy life or things fall into a very boring rut.

Then due to a variety of things, you realize that belief doesn’t serve you well and you change it. You let go of that belief and you take on the new belief that YOU are in complete control of how your body ages and that you don’t have to assign any particular age as any particular way of being.

Suddenly, your life changes. You feel younger. You find things to do that make you happy. You have more energy. You create a list of all the things you want to accomplish and you set out to do them. You stop cringing at birthdays and your friends notice how much younger you look.

THAT change in you, in your life, in your experiences is a new version of you. It actually changes some of your cells, it can affect how you look, feel and think. You are different. There is a new version of you. It sets up a new reality for you to live in.

You now have a new focused frequency!

Because time isn’t linear, the old you still exists. There is that version of you – the one aging quickly and not enjoying life – that still exists. And there is the new you. A new you simply because you changed a belief.

Because of the new belief, new people, experiences and feelings will now flow into your life. You are now heading in a new direction in your life.

Several things can happen now – and this is where the “trust” of the 7♠ comes into play.

You are eating differently now. You are out enjoying life now. Then, suddenly, something happens that scares you or makes you think your change is bogus (like losing friends because of it).

At that point you have to make a choice. You can’t have one foot on the dock and another foot on the boat. You are either all in the new way, or you go back to the old way.

Trust is an energy and we place that energy on things and beliefs. A child easily places their trust – all of it- on what they believe is possible. But, as adults, we tend to start rationalizing things and we wavier or split our trust energy up, hoping to hedge our bets.

Now you have split and dissipated energy. Your trust is no longer at 100% on the new belief that you are in control of your aging. It is like you took that new wide open door that Source was flowing new things to you through and you shut it part way.

What you have done is dissipated your own power.

100% trust and faith is 100% of your power to have what you truly want.

If you have had any type of religious background, faith and trust might mean that you have to believe in a God and that you just go through life blindly – following the will of that Higher Power. That can feel unsure because how can we know the will of said Higher Power? At that point, we hand over our power and while we might be told that we are living with blind faith, we are actually denying our birthright power to live who we are.

The Faith & Trust that the 7♠ speaks to us about is the 100% power that comes with 100% trust in a belief.

A belief is only as strong as the amount of trust energy we place in it. When we fully trust in a belief, it is very powerful and can change our lives.

100% trust equals 100% power.

Powerful people place their trust energy fully in what they believe in, directing that energy into what they believe is possible and to what they want – increasing their ability to manifest.

You choose a new reality – a new you- when you place your trust 100% on a belief about yourself and life. That 100% trust opens a door that allows a new reality to happen for you. A new dimension of you is born. That trust energy is not bound to just the physical. It is now part of your consciousness and it reaches beyond the limits of time and space.

This way of being – this ability to choose a new you and to have that reach beyond time and space is living as a multidimensional being. You have the power to make a choice – to choose what focused frequency you want to live at any moment.

Let’s go back now to the 7♠ card. In a forecast, it can speak to a possible struggle, an illness, stress or an event that challenges our faith and trust in something. (A belief.)

Seven’s always speak to “spiritual challenges,” BUT – what it is challenging or what it is helping to show us is a belief that might not be serving us, or is blocking us from what we really want in life. How this plays out is filtered by the planetary period the 7 card is in.

Using the example again of the belief in aging – let’s say that that person had the 7♠ in their Saturn period. Their belief in aging is suddenly highlighted due to their unhealthy lifestyle habits – let’s say they have been holding onto negative thoughts about themselves for a long time – such as I’m too old now to have fun or I have too many responsibilities to enjoy life. These thoughts have manifested as an illness and a lot of stress at work. They eat on the run and only processed food, ignoring any indication that their body gives them about needing real nutrients to thrive. Let’s say they end up with severe chest pain and they have to go to the hospital and have tests run for several days. They are finally forced to do something about their unhealthy lifestyle (which resulted from their belief in aging fast and no longer being able to enjoy their life.)

This becomes a challenge that presents an opportunity. (All challenges present an opportunity for us.)

While most people get told to make some changes by their doctor or they get put on some prescription drug (which can actually escalate an issue, but I won’t go there in this post!) and things might change for them, the person who is seeking to make their lives better (and uses guideposts such as the cards) can take this opportunity to check in and see what needs to change in their lifestyle and ways of thinking – aka — what belief has created this issue.

The 7♠ wants us to ask ourselves: Where am I placing my trust energy? Am I placing it 100% on a belief that is causing this issue? Or, am I 50% here and 50% there, thus dissipating my power? Am I using my full power to change my life and choose a new reality – a new me?

We might cringe when we see a 7 card in our forecast. We might look at the 7♠ and think it means we need to have faith in God. There is nothing wrong with that – the power in the belief that God will take care of you is like any other belief – it yields results based on the trust energy given to it.

The vibration of belief is unstoppable.

Living as a multidimensional being means we can take that card – that indicator of a potential challenge that is an opportunity — and choose a new reality – a new life, a new you – because you are a multidimensional being!
