How The Jack Of Spades Helps Us Stay Out Of The Drama

In this post, we’ll learn what the Jack Of Spades shows us about dealing with the idea of…struggle.

And, at the time of this post, we are a few days away from a New Moon in Aries…a New Moon that tells us to act in our best interest…to reinvent ourselves! (More on that at the end of the post)

The Jack cards always represent a dynamic, “young” energy.  It speaks to one having innate talents, but immaturity and a lack of self-discipline can undermine that vital “young” energy.

With the Jack of spades, the energy can be erratic and inconsistent.

The Jack of spades is a wonderful representation of….drama.

As a matter of fact, the Jack of Spades is considered to be the card of the actor.

On the show, Downton Abbey, one of Violet Crawley’s lines (played by actress Maggie Smith) is: “Why is life always a fight to the American.”

As I worked with this card, I kept wondering: Why do we (Americans) love to live in and through drama? (Did you know that America’s birth card is the Jack of Diamonds?)

Why are our troubles and hardships so important to us? It can seem that we strive to have the most woes among our friends and if our life is smooth and peaceful, well, we’re boring and viewed as either hiding something or crazy.

The crazy thing is, life isn’t meant to be hard, full of troubles or sad. The Universe is not made of woes and sorrows, the Universe is about expansion, joy and bliss (and we are innately that!)

You see this sense of wonder and joy in a small child—they have it because they’ve yet to have it taken away from them. If the Universe wasn’t about joy and wonder, babies would be born feeling sad and lonely and depressed.

We do use conflict and strife to expand. Conflict gives us contrast, so we can view something and say, “I don’t like that; I don’t want that.” We can then look for the opposite and go for that. This is a part of the Law of Polarity. The dark is not dark unless the light lets us know it‘s dark; the light is not light unless the dark lets us know it’s light.

The Jack of Spades sits in the Mars line (Mars & Uranus)

While Mars speaks about  action  and how to receive what we need to reach our goal, it also speaks to going about things differently then the traditional way of attaining something new.

There can come a point, when you feel like you have to go out and get it. A panic might set in because the idea of not concerning yourself with the how-to’s and not running around like a chicken with your head cut off in the typical “masculine” way of reaching a goal, will feel odd, maybe even scary.

So, we busy ourselves, we worry, we go back to past patterns, our friends keep asking, “Why aren’t you hustling? Why aren’t you out there pounding down doors?”

The struggle is what we seem to be so fond of. It’s like a badge of honor, proclaiming that because we are struggling so much,  we must be working really hard and our struggle surely is greater than anyone else’s struggle, which means we must be doing it better and when we reach our goal, parties and more badges will be delivered to us, cuz you know…..we walked uphill through the snow with no shoes to reach our goal!!

We love to talk about how hard things are, how many battles we’re facing to get there and as creatives, we feel even more in love with the struggle, because isn’t art about drama?

What good is a painting full of butterflies? What good is a story with no conflict? What good is a slam poem without some turmoil to raise Cain about?

struggle_IG

How can we portray real life if we don’t live in struggle, so we know about the pain?

Oh the beautiful pain…or as Dr. Smith would say on the TV show Lost in Space…”the pain…oh the pain…”

The spades suit is all about the challenges and struggles in life. They help to fine tune us, to make us wiser, stronger and with each battle, we step up.

But with a life of lawsuits over every little bad feeling; kids given prizes for no reason; pills to take away all and any pain, do we even allow challenges to uplevel us?

The Jack of spades is the drama we love, the pain we love to taut and the struggles we’d rather focus on, instead of becoming more because of our struggles.

The low side of the Jack of spades is to stay in the struggle.

If we glorify the struggle, keep talking about it, keep the struggle energy our main focus, keep our thoughts, feelings and environment pointed at the struggle, what are we accomplishing?

More struggle.

That is all.

Just more struggle.

On the flip side, the high side of the Jack of spades is about situations that act as your initiation into a new way of being. That is how to view this card. It is a reminder of those things that come along to help us become better.

We might learn about a new way of eating that makes us feel better, or take up some study that makes us more aware of our potential, or meet someone new that helps us see ourselves in a more positive way – all of those types of experiences uplevel our lives in some way and that is what the Jack of Spades represents.

Here’s the twist:  you can better yourself without the erroneous idea that it takes struggle. You can take what seems like a challenge and use it to uplevel yourself. You can have the dream job, the relationships, the home, etc., without going through the drama.

As I’m writing this, I’m going through one hell of a struggle. I know I drew this card because I needed to hear this. It sucks when it feels like life has thrown shit in our face and is laughing about it.

I’ve been angry, felt immense hurt and that my happy rug was pulled out from under me.

To be honest, I wish a handsome knight in shining armor would come sweep me up and take me into the sunset, promising all will be well.

Instead, each day, I have to face how I’m reacting.

Am I sending out a distress signal? Or, am I holding onto the truth that my non-physical, connected Self has it all under control and I just need to get out of the way and trust.

The Jack of Spades card doesn’t indicate challenges or that we will be facing struggle (like the 7 cards might), but it does indicate that what we might be going through can be a doorway to something much better. We just need to stop resisting and stop getting caught up in the struggle.

This card is a reminder of your transformation and that while it might still make you twitchy to be going about things in a new way, you WILL succeed and fulfill your desire.

Don’t glorify any struggles. Use them to point out what you don’t want to have in your life any longer, but then move forward. Don’t rehash the old stories. Don’t let your thoughts run wild with the old stories. Don’t let the low vibrations linger and keep you down. Release them.

Exercise:

When you begin to have any erratic, inconsistent thoughts, feelings or you feel panic about something that has happened to you, take the time to sit down with a pen and paper, take some deep breaths and write them out.

Get them out of your body/mind and onto paper. Fold the paper up and write on the outside:

Universe, Dept of Ego Panic

Attention: Jack

Put this folded paper away somewhere.

Now, go do something creative.

**The New Moon in Aries coming up on the 7th: What better time to reinvent yourself than this?

Many times when difficult, unexpected things come along, it gives us the perfect opportunity to do just that – to step back and see if  how we are currently living is really what we want, or is it just habitual?

This New Moon is conjunct Uranus – the planet that shakes things up and says, “Hey, you are more than you think you are, so you should really get out of your rut and go check out what that is!!“

If you’re feeling the urge to try something new or things have happened to you that seems to be forcing you to change – the energies to do that are ready for you – create that leap!

How To Use The Immense Power of The Eight of Spades

In this post, we’ll learn how to use the immense power of the Eight of Spades. This card tells us that when we focus our will, our intention and we zoom in on a particular interest, we will be successful.

As a kid, did you ever take a magnifying glass on a sunny day and point it at a leaf and catch the leaf on fire? You magnified and narrowed the sunlight heat onto the leaf. This is  exactly how the 8 of Spades works in our life. It tells us how powerful we are when we zoom in on something we want to achieve and we assert our will and intentions on that thing.

It relates to work and health. When we view our lives through the lens of our bodies—both as our way of living and work—this card speaks to the basic structure of living.

This card says loud and clear—YOU CAN DO THIS!

But how?

First, what does the word “Power” mean for you? This often causes confusion as to how to use this wonderful influence.

Power can feel competitive, overly masculine, aggressive or controlling, so we might not know how to apply our power or even where our power comes from!

Does it mean going at our goal like a pit bull?

No, not at all.

Our point of POWER is in the PRESENT.pwer_imagintion

First, I want to clarify what real power is in regards to our ability as divine beings to create the life we want.

Everything in life started or came into being with the idea or thought of something new or different. (Even the Bible says in John; “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God”.)

The “Word” is Creative Power. God=Creative Power. This is what created all we know. It is the system and structure of life.

It is our ability to conceive with our Minds. Our power comes from the fact that we, as Divine beings in a human body, are here to create—to expand the Universe.

We create with our imaginations.

That is the power the card points us to.  Not physical force, or aggression, or battling things into place, but with our imaginations. We conceive of what we want.

It all starts with what we believe about….. (fill in the blank)

Our thoughts are electro-magnetic realities which affect our body and are automatically translated by our nervous system into the actual way our body functions and experiences life. We literally create how our bodies are and what we will experience by what we believe. (About life, health, work, the world, etc.)

All the energy at our disposal as Divine beings is concentrated towards what we want in order to bring us the results. There are no ifs, ands or buts…it just IS.

Our power resides in our imaginations.

You have the ability to go into your imagination and create (vibrationally) the life you want to live and be there.

And by being there, living it vibrationally (even for just a few minutes a day), you shift the balance of power.  You take the power away from the obstacles.

See, as humans, we tend to always see the obstacles and then we assign power as the ability to remove the obstacles (sometimes we literally think we have to power through them, right? )

But, the power we have as divine beings isn’t in our bodies or through being aggressive.

It is through our beliefs.

Your effective POWER of action follows your beliefs. If you believe in any limitations, weaknesses, or impossibilities within yourself or in life, you deny and block your innate power. You will GET only in direct correlation with what you believe you’ll get.

Society typically does this: One reacts against something they don’t want or like in response to events that seem to be happening to them.

That can be seen as “power” in our culture. (Go fight for what you want…or go fight against the bad stuff.)

What that does is create more of the same. But because it is an “outer” action, we think it is real power.

Instead, to use our real, innate divine power, we must use our Mind (not our ego-mind) but our beliefs and imagination, to form a mental image of our desired outcome as if it has already happened. We get tripped up here because we look out and see that “it isn’t there yet,” which activates all kinds of limiting reasoning against it. THAT blocks our power.

Because our beliefs have this electro-magnetic reality, the constant interplay between our contradictory beliefs causes power blocks, stopping the flow of energy we have access to in order to create.

Every single thing that is and happens follows this pattern: An accumulation of energy turned into action brought about by the culmination of our beliefs.

Find beliefs that allow you to ignore obstacles. Build a belief system within yourself so that you have no limitations or restrictions.

Now, let’s go back to the statement of, your point of POWER is in the PRESENT.

There are two parts to this.

Part One: Your present beliefs give directions to your entire personality, which reorganizes and changes your past experiences and in the same sense, alters the future.

If you are unable to achieve a goal, there is probably a belief from your past that’s blocking your point of power. We think that the PAST is who we are, when in fact, who you are is in the PRESENT moment.

We can change anything…anything…anything!….when we focus our point of power on the present.

Not the past (how things were then).

Not the future (if only I had this and maybe when I can get to that, THEN I can have what I want).

But seeing, feeling, imagining NOW what you want or how you want to be.

Part Two: Add to this the power that comes from being at peace with how things are in your life NOW.

You might want a change and that is OK– that is how it should be—as creators, we are always expanding. But when you focus on the things in your life that you hate, you block your power to change it.

Love and be grateful for where you are NOW, how you are NOW. That opens your flow of power. Find things to love and be grateful for with your present circumstances daily.

I like to wake up and start listing things, literally looking around me and focusing on what is there that I love; that pleases me; that makes me smile; that feels good. Then I also look at what I might not be happy with and I love it too, because I created it.

(I actually look at what I wish was different and I hear and see the character of Steve Urkel on the show Full House say, “Did I do that?” I can laugh and say, “Yes, I did, I am a powerful creator!” 😉

You are a Divine Co-Creator with the Universe and your desire is very important. YOU are important.

This is the Power of the 8 of Spades —it is the concentrated FOCUS, the unblocked power to actualize one’s goal.

You have this energetic influence to use when this card is in your yearly forecast. We all have access to this at all times, but when it is in your forecast, it says that now, at this time, you chose at a soul level this “energy” to use for a specific purpose. We always have free will—to deny, avoid or refuse. It is your choice.

To use this very powerful influence, here is a step-by-step guide you can download to help you be aware of any old habit/thoughts/beliefs that might be sabotaging your goal and how to change it.
Download it Now

Create your point of power now by deciding to state a new belief that is 100% positive in regards to your goal.

Ask the Universe to reveal to you proof that your new belief is TRUTH.

If your birth card is the 8 of spades, you are a very powerful person with the obligation to use your power for good. Don’t use it to avoid or escape your fears – instead make a contribution to society. You are a hard worker and you express your power through actions and your powerful will. You can easily handle obstacles and you have the power to heal and transform the lives of those you know. Your challenge is to develop a more positive attitude about life and the study of spiritual topics will bring you more healing and personal freedom.

eightofspades

If you draw the 8 of spades ask yourself these questions:

  1. What would you truly like to change and improve upon?
  2. List your five top reasons to develop new empowering beliefs.
  3. What new beliefs will let you move past difficulties forever?
  4. When you become determined to achieve your goals, what happens?
  5. What very specific goal, project or topic are you wanting to focus on right now?
  6. What would you need to believe to be successful right now?
  7. What questions do you ask yourself that disempower you?

What The Six of Hearts Reveals To Us About Relationships And Karma

Today you’re going to learn what the Six of Hearts reveals to us about relationships and karma.

You’ll also learn how the seemingly awful things that happen to us (that we might call bad karma) are really not about punishment, but are there as an opportunity to change an erroneous belief.

How do you feel about the word karma?

Today’s post is on the Six of Hearts card. I’ve struggled a bit with the 6 cards as they represent the “karma” cards. I’ve adjusted my belief about karma quite a bit over the past few years.Pin_six_hearts

I don’t believe karma is a form of punishment for past actions. It’s more about the reconciling of an assigned belief from our past – or from one of our multitude of lives being lived simultaneously. (ooohhhh…shall we open Pandora’s box?!?)

Yes, I believe we live in a multi-dimensional universe. We aren’t living in a linear fashion because time is a man-made convenience. All of our lives are being lived simultaneously.

Let’s say that in one of your lives (or in earlier days of the life you are presently aware of), you were betrayed and abandoned. You decided at that point that you weren’t worthy of being loved and that no one could be trusted with your heart.

You assigned a belief about yourself and others at that point.

Because you decided that is how it would be, then you drew to you the same event, over, and over. It reinforced that belief and you decided that was how it was. Period.

Karma is then the opportunity to change the erroneous belief that has you feeling and living those negative, dark-night-of-the-soul, situations. It is these events that create our fears, anger, depression or anxieties and we carry them with us until we confront them and change them.

This is also why the 6 cards are the peace and harmony cards.

I questioned this for some time. How could the karma cards also be the peace and harmony cards? It seemed confusing to me until I fully understood that karma isn’t punishment. It isn’t some bad deed that you deserve because you were bad. (Though, we do love to look at it that way when we want another person who has hurt us to get hurt back! Right?)karma_pin

Karma is a bitch we love to say…

It is a bitch…to live with the fears and anxieties.

But, you can’t change the fears unless you realize the fears, understand that said fears are what is causing you to experience them over…and over. A belief induced fear becomes part of your vibration- sending out that signal, pulling back to you all that matches it.

The Six of Hearts is responsibility in our relationships.

All of the sixes make us take responsibility.

This is another key thing with karma. It is up to us to change how things are in our life. We have complete control, but we have to take that responsibility.

One of the ways we must do that is by realizing that no one is doing things to us – we are experiencing them because of a belief we assigned at some point. Changing that belief changes how people will treat us and the types of people constantly in our life.

When the six of hearts shows up in our yearly forecast, it gives us the opportunity to look at our relationships – at the people in our lives and how we feel about them, interact with them and how we treat them.

  • Is it how we want it to be?
  • Is there something we keep attracting because of some belief we have?
  • Are we being responsible and creating the type of relationships we want – or are we just blaming people for our difficulties?

It brings us the opportunity to create peace and harmony through our own inner changes.

six_hearts_harmony

If the Six of Hearts is your Birth card, you are the Peacemaker. You are aware of the law of love and you strive to maintain harmony and stability in your love life and family/home. Sixes don’t like a lot of change and they don’t like things to be upsetting. They can get stuck in relationships because they don’t want to rock the boat and make the necessary changes or get out.

Six of heart people have the ability to bring love into bad situations and therefore heal it.

This is the highest of what “karma” is about. Taking a fear or negative and transforming it into love.

You can’t do that by suppressing your feelings or pretending all is well. You have to realize the emotions, then transform them with the knowledge that all are worthy, all are divine and all are just wanting to be loved. AND that the belief you assigned that says you are unworthy of love is exactly that – an erroneous belief that needs to go.

Because Sixes are so keenly aware of the effect of their actions, they can be afraid to say or do anything. They are best at seeing all the angles; seeing the right in everything- which is what makes them so special (and needed!).

They help maintain balance and harmony – in others’ lives and in their environment.

If you draw a Six of hearts, ask yourself these questions:

  1. What about love is challenging you?
  2. What would you have to recognize within yourself to experience more self-love?
  3. Where has love let you down? (where and how you feel let down by love – that is an indication of an assigned erroneous belief.)
  4. What can you do to create a loving and harmonious life?
  5. Where do you need to be more responsible within your relationships?
  6. What are you tolerating in your relationships?
  7. What do you really want in your relationship?

Healthy relationships are key to our happiness. Many times it is an erroneous belief within us that consistently damages our relationships. I think it is so beautiful how this card expresses the importance of creating peace and harmony within ourselves first (by being responsible for what beliefs we hold), making the inner changes we need to make, which will then allow us to have healthy relationships – with our self and others!

The King Of Clubs – The Master Of Knowledge

How do you feel about your ability to communicate?

My post today is about the King of Clubs. This card is about mastering our ability (and responsibility) to stand up, take a leadership position and communicate (either through writing, speaking or any other communication field) important knowledge & truth.

King_clubs_mind

I had a dream the night before I drew this card. I looked out my window and saw a huge full moon. Then I saw a large white goose flying into the moon. Then it turned and I noticed that it wasn’t one goose, but five – they were all connected and they started flying at me. I thought they would fly right in my window, but right before they reached me they flew up.

In looking up the meaning of the goose, I realized how similar it is to the meaning of the King of Clubs card.

Geese and their patterns in migration reminds us that as any one of us makes our “quest” (our search of truth) it becomes easier for others.

Geese have powerful voices and great physical strength to endure the migrations. They are quiet as goslings, then break free to come into their own. In mythology, Mother Goose’s fairy tales and stories stirred our imaginations. It is within these childhood stories that we can be imprinted in how we perceive life. The stories and myths of our culture, as well as the types of stories we were drawn to as kids had a role to play in what we end up doing in life.goose_leader

Our imaginations take us places through oral and written stories, letting us explore other physical locales, other realms and other ways of BEing.

The role of the King of Clubs is to be an authority in the area of their ‘truth.’  They seem to have a direct connection to knowledge and they don’t live by someone else’s philosophy – they live by theirs.

There are many ways a King of Clubs can pass on their knowledge – it isn’t always by being a teacher or writer. Their instrument for sharing comes in many forms, but one thing is for sure – they have a huge responsibility to share and to share in integrity.

One of the resources of a King of Clubs is their precise mental distinction.

Nothing can be out of place or off within their minds and what they are doing, or they will feel off, out of sorts or unstable.

Think about being someone whose very core is this quest for the truth – what transformations they must undergo! Because you can’t be constantly seeking and not run into knowledge that cuts you to the core.

Do they grasp and change due to everything they discover? No…and that is when and where they get in trouble, because they instinctively know they must, but they don’t always make the transformation.

Back to my dream of the geese – there were five of them. Five is the number of change. We must get out of our ruts, out of our mental prisons. Like a person with OCD who is trapped because something is not 100% as it should be, a state of constant exactness can hurt us.

The geese were flying into the Full moon. The full moon is the time when our intentions have either been fulfilled, or we realize it wasn’t what we really wanted and we must let go. It can be the struggle between the head and the heart – between intuition and our rational mind.

On the Solar Spread (what I call The Map), The King of Clubs sits at Uranus and Uranus. This is the ultimate spot of the development of individuality, transcending cultural and societal programming; living outside of the status quo and sometimes our comfort zone. Ignorance is not bliss for the King of Clubs. Our search for the truth must lead us to living as our authentic selves.

The Master of Knowledge (the King of Clubs) represents that place where we are living from the Mind (not the brain or our intellect) but from that place where we are connected to a higher perspective, sharing through compassion and leading with integrity and responsibility. Much success is gained when we come from this place.

Do you have the King of Clubs in your Birth or Ruling card spread?

If so, where? Wherever he is, he brings the desire to know; to master that knowledge and to pass it along as a responsible leader and to be an authority in that area.

For example, my dear 2 of Clubs friend has the King of Clubs as her Mercury card (all 2 of Clubs people do) – thus her mental life is all about mastering her knowledge in the field she loves. She is working on her PhD right now and I’m betting she’ll never really be done with school and learning.

Do you have the King of Clubs in your forecast this year?

He will act as a gift – bringing you the energy of being able to communicate and lead within your area of expertise.

What Planetary period is he in?

If you draw this card when using the cards as divination tool, ask yourself these questions:

  1. What is my confidence level with my communication abilities?
  2. What advice do I continue to receive, yet refuse to follow?
  3. What is it costing me and others by refusing to communicate effectively?
  4. What confining habits or ways of thinking are blocking my communications?
  5. Where can I apply my current knowledge to become a better communicator?
  6. What has to happen to make the information I want to communicate more understandable?
  7. Am I willing to take a leadership position in my area of expertise?

8 Reasons To Awaken Your Venus

It’s February! We know what that means, right? The stores are exploding in red and pink and we are either dreading that middle of the month date, or trying to come up with a plan…valentine-602744_1280

Whether we avoid, hate or love Valentine’s day, are single, married or it’s complicated, there is one topic that all of us are always focused on and that is our relationships.

That brings me to the topic of the planet Venus.

I’m going to be exploring the planet of love, beauty and art all month – and how she can help us with our relationships. All relationships – with ourselves, our friends, our family, co-workers and yes, even our lovers and spouses.

What about our relationship with our creativity? And with our fans/followers as a Creative? Yep, that too.

painting-63186_640The reason I’m discussing the planet of Venus is because she is all about what we love, what we are attracted to, how we relate to others, what brings us joy and what turns us on.

Knowing our soul stats (I call all of the information that astrology, numerology and the cards gives us, our soul stats) – and in this case our Venus stats- (our Venus cards/sign and house) helps us not only with our relationships, but also with our creativity. She is what inspires us and what helps us attract those things we desire into our life.

We each have a Venus card in our birth card spread. That card lets us know more about ourselves in the area of love, attraction, our sociability, what gives us pleasure, what brings us joy and how we connect (or don’t connect) to all the people in our lives.

Relationships, our sensuality, our attraction, how we see beauty and art and all the feminine/receptive aspects of who we are is covered under Venus. We can learn a lot from her about ourselves and those we love by understanding and utilizing our Venus stats.

Instead of dreading this month, why not use it to discover more about yourself and those you love – how to relate to them better and how to enjoy your life more, because when you are enjoying life, more joy comes to you!

How connected are you to your Venus?

Are your passions lying under the weight of familial expectations?

Do you embrace what lights you up – or go along with the projections placed on you by those you love?

Our Venus is there to help us be authentic. To truly understand and embrace that which lets us shine.

8_reasons_to_awaken_your_venus

There is a lot that She can help us with.

Here are 8 reason why you should awaken your Venus:

  1. Understand, own and embrace your true beauty and genuinely let it show
  2. Magnetizing yourself so you attract your true desires
  3. Owning and enjoying your true erotic and sensual nature (and healing any wounds to those parts)
  4. Know how to let others in your life understand and value what you need, want and desire
  5. Seriously making your needs and pleasures a priority with no guilt attached
  6. Waking up to what inspires you so you can play with and romance your creativity
  7. Heal, restore and enhance all of your relationships
  8. Own, use and be illuminated by your feminine nature

If you don’t know what sign your Venus is in, you can get a free astrological chart here.

If you don’t know your Venus card, you can get my free chart to see what the cards are in your birth card spread here.

I’ll be sharing more details in upcoming posts about each Venus sign and card – so stay tuned!
